LAOS
 Jun Ka village in the
morning. There were only 15 houses there
Dogs are kept for food and
not as pets. This was our lunch on Christmas Day
 Before we left the
village, our dog was ready
 Friendly Akha people. Only
very few agreed to being photographed
 Best friends!
 Morning clouds still
lingering over the mountains
 Super-tall bamboo
 Rice storage is built near
rice fields. We stopped here for lunch
 We arrived in the 3rd
village - Chia Hen. There are 35 houses and 290 inhabitants
 A house made of bamboo.
When new one is needed, everybody in the village helps to build it
 Main street in Chia Hen
Chief followed us around the village
 Akha are very efficient
hunters. They make riffles and gunpowder themselves
 Another hunter just came
back from the forest
 They haven't invented
nappies yet
 "My first slingshot"
 Ela wanted a group photo,
but the kids run away when I pointed my camera
 No comment
 Men eat first and women
wait their turn. I had fever and they were worried about catching my
illness
 The first woman prepared
betel nut when I said I had never tried it
 After a minute of chewing,
my tongue looked like this
 From 5am these women
started threshing rice under the house and didn't stop for hours
It takes a long time to
thresh this little rice
 I was surprised they let
me take photos
